NHS workforce planning resource pack for public health

NHS National Workforce Projects are developing a Workforce Planning Resource Pack for public health.  This resource pack is one of a series currently being developed to look at:

  • key priority service areas
  • information and advice on workforce planning
  • future ways of working.

The Workforce Planning Resource Pack is aimed at anyone involved in planning the workforce to deliver the public health agenda and will include health improvement, health protection and service improvement. The guidance in this pack will be relevant for planning at a strategic, organisational, local authority, community or individual level.

One section of the resource pack will be dedicated to examples of programmes, projects or initiatives that have been developed to address workforce changes needed to achieve the public health agenda. Each example will consist of:

  • a short description of the programme, project or initiative
  • progress made in implementation
  • measurable outcomes, benefits and successes that have arisen directly or indirectly from the initiative
  • lessons learned.

If your organisation has a programme, project or initiative that you would like to see included in the resource pack, please contact liz.livermore@nwpnhs.org.uk

The first of these packs was on Long Term Conditions, and is available here
Resources packs on 18 week wait and Urgent Care will be available early in the new year.
