IHPE joining the Shaping the Future collaboration
We are delighted to announce that the Institute of Health Promotion and Education (IHPE) has joined the Shaping the Future collaboration. IHPE’s President, Professor Jackie Green, will be joining the project team.
The IHPE was established 40 years ago to bring together professional workers on the basis of their common interest in health education and health promotion. The Institute is a recognised professional association offering Full or Associate membership to those engaged in the practice of health education and health promotion. It publishes the well known International Journal of Health Promotion and Education, edited by Professor Stephen Palmer of City University and the Centre for Stress Management, London. The Institute’s website is www.ihpe.org.uk.
Over the years the Institute has made a special contribution to the development of a settings approach within an organizational model. Latterly it has become concerned with the future of health promotion.
Jackie Green commented that ‘Responding to contemporary challenges to health requires the skills and values which specialist health promotion staff bring to public health. The IHPE welcomes the opportunity to join the Shaping the Future collaboration and contribute to supporting the development of specialist health promotion’.
